Craftsman Frame Co. was founded in 2005 by Greg Drinkwine.
Like many of the early American Arts and Crafts frame makers such as Hermann
Dudley Murphy, Arthur Mathews and Frederick Harer
Greg is both Artist and Frame Maker. Greg Received his formal art training at the famous Art Students League of New
York and studied abroad at Ecole Albert De Fois
in France.
Greg's passion for American Frames began in the American Wing at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art. "As a art student I spent a lot of time at the Met.
I began early on to have a passion for the exceptional beauty and craftsmanship
of American Arts and Crafts frames".
With a desire to create Arts and Crafts frames for his own paintings Greg
purchased the tools and materials and began making frames.
From this modest beginning Greg's frames have gone on to be continually sought
after by museums, auction houses, collectors, dealers and artists. His frames
surround some of the biggest names in American Art.
"It is my passion to create for our clients frames of exceptional beauty and
craftsmanship. Enhance the works of art they surround and to be passed on to
future generations".
